MP's boost for local businesses

May 2009

On May 1st Edward Timpson, Member of Parliament for Crewe & Nantwich, visited Storage Boost, the Self Storage experts who provide flexible business space for small businesses in South Cheshire.

Mr Timpson was there to meet small business owners who run their businesses from the popular location next to the railway station on Weston Road.

When brothers Nick and Andy Wood launched Storage Boost three years ago, their objective was not only to provide storage space for households, but to provide a flexible, cost effective location for small businesses to start up and grow.

Mr Timpson met a wide ranging group of small business owners and discussed current issues which they are tackling in 2009.

Tony Jones of AKJ Services is one such company that Mr Timpson met.

Tony has operated his electrical engineering business from Storage Boost since 2006, and due to its flexibility has expanded to a bigger workshop unit with a view to employing a new apprentice.

Tony commented:

"It was good to meet Mr Timpson and discuss how my business has adapted in 2009 to meet the needs of our customers".

Edward Timpson said:

"It has been a pleasure to visit a site that supports such a variety of small businesses in our constituency, as well as being a thriving business in itself."

"Hats off to Nick and Andy for fostering the entrepreneurial spirit in Crewe and Nantwich and for playing their part in keeping as many jobs here as possible."
